Winter Wreath

My cousin got this adorable wreath for Christmas:

So of course, my sister-in-law decided we could make ones for ourselves.

Step Number One: Wrap the wreath in yarn. This step by far takes the longest, but I love the texture, and I think it gives the whole thing a warm, Anthropologie feel.

Step Two: Decorate as you please! The flowers, ruffles, and leaves are all made out of felt, and the other details (birds, butterflies, pinecones, etc) you can get from your yard or from the wreath aisle at the craft store.

I tried to make one for the awkward decorating season of after-Christmas/before-spring. I got impatient at the end, and probably would have arranged the leaves a little differently and added some glittery detail if I would've spent more time.

My snow-weary sister-in-law made a fun spring/summer one.
 I love her glittery detail!

We made big ones for our front doors, but I think a smaller one could be super cute for a little girl's room!
