In some ways we feel like we've had him forever, but I have to admit the thought of how fast these four weeks have flown by makes me a little teary-eyed.
Our sweet Caleb was born on December 28 at 11:55 am, 7 lbs 10 oz.
After four tries at inserting the IV and another hour delay, they rolled me into the operating room. Clint came in five minutes later, starting reading me all of your encouraging texts and facebook messages, and within ten minutes we heard, "There's a foot!" Then, "he's peeing on me!"
They held him up over the sheet so we could see him, but all I caught a glimpse of was a blue hand. Clint went over snd watched him get all clean while they stitched me up, and finally they let Clint bring him over to me.
We're obsessed. When he wakes up from a nap, I'm surprised at how much I've missed him. After Clint gets home in the evening, there's no more napping in the crib because it's hard to pry Caleb from his arms. We can't get enough of his sneezes and yawns and big blue eyes. I know all parents think their kids are the cutest ever, but I'm pretty sure ours actually is.
Some pictures from the past month...
Especially the first week, bathtime was traumatic. But the instant he was wrapped up in a towel, all was right with the world...
